Experience

Licensed and practicing high school math teacher, endorsed in Math 6-12 (including Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus) and Technology Education. I want to tutor you or your child because I enjoy working one-on-one or in small groups to help people understand the topics that mean a lot to me, that I enjoy teaching in the classroom, and that I enjoyed learning and practicing during my own time in school. As a teacher and tutor, I focus on tying together related concepts, stressing the visual and algebraic aspects of problems, as well as memory devices to help remember which rules and procedures apply to which problems. I work on helping students understand the underlying math as well as the procedures, so that my students can more easily figure out how to go about solving a problem effectively, rather than just plugging numbers into formulas and hoping they're the right ones. I try to present topics in a number of different ways, to give more students the best tools that work for them. SAT Math: 780 SAT Verbal: 790 AP Calculus BC: 5 AP Physics C: 5 AP CS: 5 AP French Language: 5
